Not sure how you would put a a 'beaver tail' on a revolver or the need for one.

Someone makes a target grip that puts a tail over the web of your hand. Can't remember the name, though. I believe I saw it on Gunblast.

IIRC, the purpose of a beavertail is to prevent hammer bite during the recoil - slide coming back cocking the action process.

That doesn't happen on a revolver, so I'm wondering why someone would want a beavertail on a revolver?

mike:
it is because it supports the hand for those that feels that it is some "slack in the grip" between thumb and index finger..

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, okay. Target or match grips, not a beavertail. I'm guessing you can find any 686 (or whatever) have find after market grips for it that suit you fancy.

Always heard good things about Nill-Griffe target grips. If I remember right, the turnaround is not too bad either.

In that weight range Visaman I would suggest the Ruger KGP-141 (4" that is) or the SP-101 3" in .357 mag.
