Just to throw another option into the ring, the S&W M&P SWaMPy.
I tried the 9c Compact version and liked the trigger better than the Glock 26. The guns are available on sale for $450 locally. (Jax, FL) The Walther/S&W has the adjustable grip advantage, plus the improvements over the older Glock 19 design. The Glock 19 is an excellent pistol. I picked up a dirty range rental and put a magazine full of 9mm into the center of a small silhouette target without a problem. That's good ergonometrics out of the box. I would pick the one that feels best. Some better dealers have examples in the display cases with each of the different back straps. You might also look at a .22 LR conversion unit, I believe there is one available for the Glock. I don't know how reliable they are. Geoff Who needs more practice. |
