Front Sight Blade Height
I want to put a taller front sight blade on a 1911 clone with a Novak cut slide. A lot of common height dimensions I see are .180 or .190. Is this the height of the entire blade, from the top to the bottom of the dovetail, or just the height of the blade, excluding the dovetail?

Dovetail sights are measured from the top of the sight to the bottom of the dovetail.

You didn't specify which clone. Beware Springfields are dovetailed and pinned.

It’s an Iver Johnson. I’ll look for the pin. I didn’t know about those till I saw them on some of the replacement sights. I may just ad some material to the top of the stock sight.
