heehee, just saw this obvious paraphrase over on the Lee-Enfield Forum.
"Cry Haddock, and let slip the frogs of Gore!" Probably attributable to this character, note the Monica-view camera angle... |

I have probably 10-15 pages of GOOD RKBA quotes, these are some select ones.
"I'm Hiking, I'm hunting; I'm floating, I'm fishing." My Pa. "The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms." - Samuel Adams "To disarm the people (is) the best and most effectual way to enslave them..." - George Mason "Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson "The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it." -Thomas Jefferson "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." - Thomas Jefferson "The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed." - Alexander Hamilton ------------------ IF you're not willing to die for your rights/beliefs, don't try to take mine. |

I also have a file of great quotes, many of which I've cut and pasted from this board. A few of my favorites are as follows:
"In a world of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." --George Orwell "Rebellion to tyrants is obedience to God." --Thomas Jefferson “To Hell with the Constitution.” -- Mike Roos, California Assemblyman, On the constitutionality of the Roberti-Roos assault weapons ban of 1989 “Rome did not create a great empire by having meetings; they did it by killing all those who opposed them.” --Unknown "One hundred rounds do not constitute firepower. One hit constitutes firepower." --General Merritt “Red Mike” Edson, USMC "When men find they must inevitably perish, they willingly resolve to die with their comrades and with their arms (weapons) in their hands." --Flavius Vegetius Renatus, AD 378 “The mission of the Marine Corps rifle squad is to locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire and maneuver or to repel the enemy’s assault by fire and close combat.” --Marine Guidebook "Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war let it begin here!" --Captian John Parker, Lexington Militia, at Lexington Green, April 19, 1775 “Happiness is interlocking fields of fire.” --Jarhead |

some of my favorites:
The First Amendment is often inconvenient. But that is besides the point. Inconvenience does not absolve the government of its obligation to tolerate speech. Justice Anthony Kennedy They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759 You do not examine legislation in the light of the benefits it will convey if properly administered, but in the light of the wrongs it would do and the harms it would cause if improperly administered. Lyndon Johnson Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on. Churchill Albert Einstein, when asked to describe radio, replied: "You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat." Albert Einstein "For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." Richard Feynman "The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits." unknown "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." Thomas Edison "Obviously crime pays, or there'd be no crime." G. Gordon Liddy %% "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail." Abraham Maslow "Diplomacy is the art of saying 'nice doggy' until you can find a rock." Will Rogers Politicians are interested in people. Not that this is always a virtue, fleas are interested in dogs. P.J. O’Rourke They’ve got us surrounded again, the poor bastards. Gen. Creighton Abrams |
