State Farm & Prudential don't like guns!
Thats the back page of the latest GOA newsletter and although i've heard of the State Farm cowards before,i wasn't aware of Prudentials Hitler loving stance. If you insure with either, you might want to reconsider and let them know why you left.According to the article,Farm Bureau,Nationwide and American National Property and Casualty are companies to consider.

Oh yeah, if you live in Virginia, and have State Farm, be prepared for a rate increase in September.
Of up to THIRTY percent. For some people who were hit with a rate increase late last year, premiums will rise nearly 50 percent in less than 12 months. Tell me again why I have Erie Insurance?

Hey Mike!
Many insurance companies are raising their rates, the excuse given is to pay for the 9/11 disaster. Everybody is going to get whacked thanks to Osama and his buddies. If you have any kind of insurance expect it to go up.

I just paid my State Farm premium for the yr. and had gun rider added for around $12 and they didn't have a problem with it here in KY. Maybe it just particular states?

My auto/renter's insurance is with the Farm Bureau. My rep is pretty cool, didn't flinch at the word "gun" - his office was covered in a "hunting" motif.

State Farm will be going up for another reason - remember that class-action lawsuit they lost? Now they have to pay an additional sum to you for "lost value" of your vehicle after an accident. Does anyone really think they're going to let that come out of corporate profits?

runt,
Farm Bureau isn't just insurance. It is a agricultural cooperative kinda sorta. That's why you have to pay a membership fee each year. Insurance is just a benefit.

K80,
My home insurance hasn't gone up in over 3 years. SF is looking at 2 in less than 12 months. The only reason my auto insurance went up is because I bought a new car.

I don't care about the membership fee. Farm Bureau has always been a good insurance provider, and stood up for me when that drunk pedestrian walked out on front of my truck. Instead of bending over and paying off the guy to keep it from going to court, my insurance-provided lawyer kicked his butt right back where it belonged. They fought it and we won.
