I love "gun industry watch"

They tell me everything they are doing to abrogate my rights and even the people I should contact to oppose their idiocy. Ya gotta love 'em.

Dear Jim:

ALERT: Tell Congress Not to Bail out Gun Manufacturers!

Gun Industry Watch and the Alliance for Justice need your help. Congress is considering a bill (H.R. 2037) that prevents gun violence victims from suing the gun industry and gun manufacturers for negligent practices.

Tomorrow (September 25th) the bill may move onto the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which is filled with gun lobby allies. Please call or e-mail members on this Committee and urge them to oppose H.R. 2037 TODAY!

What would H.R. 2037 do if passed?
If H.R. 2037 is passed, a gun victim or victim’s family could not seek justice in any court in this country against the gun industry. The gun industry would go unpunished for their careless manufacturing and marketing of dangerous weapons.

What else would H.R. 2037 do?
H.R. 2037 would protect gun makers who REFUSE to make their products safer. Guns are one of the only consumer products not regulated by the federal government. This means that the government cannot recall unsafe firearms. With this bill, no one would be able to hold gun makers accountable for making an unsafe product.

For more information regarding H.R. 2037, log onto www.bradycampaign.org.

How can you help defeat H.R. 2037 TODAY?
E-mail or call members on the House Energy and Commerce Committee (see below), and URGE THEM TO OPPOSE H.R. 2037. Don’t wait until it’s too late to stop this bill from becoming law!
