what's difference between rem 1100 and 11-87?

hello

can anybody tell me what's the difference between Remington 1100 and 1187 semiautomatic shotguns? i heard that 1187 is an upgrade over 110 but in what respects?

please enlighten me.

Mainly the gas system - stainless magazine tube, ability to handle both 2 3/4 and 3 inch loads.
