THR down, or is it just me?

Someone just reformatted this machine so I lost everything, and now I can't get on THR.

Is it just my machine, or is it having issues?

Just hung up with Preacherman in regard to another matter.

Most likely Hurricane Francis is giving the THR server in Jacksonville , FL a hard time.

Derek Forwarned us this would occur.

You folks in FL - stay safe and folks like myself are wishing you the best.

Regards,
Steve

Hurricane Frances might have something to do with it. The other day either tyme or Derek Z. gave the heads up that since FL is where the server is located, there might be some problems. I'll bet Oleg or one of the mods will be here soon.

Yes, folks, from what we know at the moment it looks like the access lines to northern Florida are more than a little underwater. Since THR's server is in Jacksonville, the server itself is just fine, as far as we know, but it's likely that the lines to it are going to be out of action for a while - hopefully hours, but possibly days...

Hang tight, and enjoy TFL in the interim!

Okay. Thanks for the updates... Just making sure my machine isn't having another SNAFU.

Thanks again.

No THR has given me a good excuse to visit TFL again.

No kidding. Hell, I just discovered that TFL was alive and kicking again! I was researching some stuff, suddenly noticed I was reading a post dated from July... it all came together from there! Now, how to keep up with both forums...

Thanks for the update Preacherman. Boy it's a good thing we've got both TFL and THR or I'd go into withdrawal.

I thought Al Gore invented this system to function WHEN there is a disaster and everything else fails.

Hey folks, as Preacherman said the THR server is in Jacksonville, so likely just without power right now. Most of Jacksonville is still without power after the storm blew through town last night. I'm just outside Jacksonville, and my power was restored as of about an hour ago, after being out for 18 hours. The newsies claim the lights should be back up and running by this evening, if weather permits.

Down at time of this posting. I guess they want to give the staff a break. Nahh, it's the Hurricane and it's not chasing a Messerschimdt.

THR is still down as of now...I think it is great we have this site to visit. So many familiar faces here that we know on THR...JUST ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY SO lets all read, post and stay dry...AT least the electricity is still on, for now anyway..Frances, at least what's left of it, is headed my way. I live in a Rural area in middle GA and if the weather just hiccups, the lights go out....sooooooo I am holding my breath that the lights and of course most importantly the computer stays on.
