How does the FN Fourty Nine stack-up? Is it worth $400???

The FN 49 is an ok gun. The striker has restrike capability, however the pull on each shot is long, exactly like a CZ100.

FN makes the FNP-9 which is a similar pistol, however it has a hammer and uses a decocker. The grip is shaped differently and the pistol uses a different accessory rail. The price runs about $399 w/ three 16 round magazines. The barrel lockup is a Sig copy, which was a Browning design to begin with. The single action pull is a crisp 3½ pounds. The gun is very accurate, the extractor is large. I own one and have been rather impressed with it's performance.

In May or June, FN is releasing a newer version that is all black, with a redesigned decocker. The current decocker is difficult to manipulate and is the only fault with the gun.
