CZ-52 or Polish Mak 64
I'm still looking for a cheap handgun to keep in my plumbing truck, one that I won't cry about if it gets stolen. I've been thinking about getting a Bulgarian Mak, even though that's probably a better gun than I need. Would probably end up in the safe and be a regular range and carry gun. Anyway...recently started thinking about a CZ-52 or the Polish Mak 64. I'm guessing the Pol gun uses a 9x18 Makarov round but what does the CZ-52 use?
Is one gun better then the other? I'm also guessing the CZ-52 is bigger than the PolMak right? Keep in mind the only pic I've seen of either is on the SOG site so have patience with me.

The CZ-52 uses 7.62x25 ammo.I'd get it over the P64 anyday. The 52 is quite a bit larger than the 64 but is a hard gun to beat in the fun department.Just dont dry fire it.

CZ-52 uses the 7.62x25. A bit harder to find than 9x18, but not by much.
The 7.62x25 is a much hotter round, known for over penetration. As far af the cz-52, It would most likely end up in your range bag, they are a blast to shoot. |

The Polish Mak isn't really a makarov despite the round it fires. It has horrible trigger pull and isn't worth what you pay for it even if you think you're getting a good deal.

Don't know what you might use it on but I can use my CZ 52 out to 50 yards with no problems. Might not be able to do that with the P64, especially if the trigger pull is as bad as they say.

7.62x25...isn't that the Tokarev round? If it is, I've heard they're great. Fast, accurate, a little bit-o-kick, and a blast at the range. Don't know why but I think necked-down rounds have a coolness factor to them.
I have GOT to get me one of those !!!

If you want a good CCW then get a plain old Makarov. The P64 is just a very inexpensive Walther copy, much like the FEG's but worse quality. If you want a plinker/target gun.......the CZ52 is the one to get.
Shoot well.

You could get a FEG PA-63 in 9x18.Mine have been nice to shoot and are fairly lightweight and small.
