Llama handgun Questions

Hi everyone,
Im new at this site and pretty much handguns. Im 21 years old. My dad is big time hunter in Texas and I go every once in awhile. But Im really starting to fall for guns. Im looking for a handgun like the Colt .45. Ive noticed some of Llama handguns are like a replica of the colt. Is the Llama guns any good? Any information would be helpful.

Also, anyone from Tx do any training and tactics? I paintball alot so I was wondering if anyone trains somewhere near Dallas???

This site has already been very informative. Thanks to everyone.

I had a Llama IXC 45. Got it in 86 and just traded it recently. It was a nice gun. It would eat hardball all day, but was a jamamatic with JHP's. Magazines are scarce for it ,and I had to carry it in a Yaqui slide. Couldn't find leather to fit that squared slide. I only paid $175 years ago ,so I got my money out of it. I'd say if your on a budget and want a 45 range gun ,go for it.Regards 18DAI.

The Llama's in the .45 configuration are not complete clones of the 1911A1. The grips, barrel, slide, mag's, plunger tube, etc, are not compatible. If you find a nice .45 for under $250, go for it...I paid less than that for this specimen (was mint-like) and unlike some .45's, will digest JHP's as well as hardball. Lot of negative misinformation about these Spanish pistols, maybe some of it deserved, but like other mfgr's: some do not live-up to expectations. For the $'s, it's worth a shot....Good hunting.... BTW, this is the IXA, circa 1977....
