Glock prices
I have been shopping around for a glock and I keep getting these high prices. It seems that all the local shops want about $550 for a 9mm and at least $600 for a .45 acp. I am in Columbus, Ohio. I dont know If this is normal but I thought about 500 out the door was right for a 9 mm glock and around 550 for a .45 acp. Can someone list a cheaper shop to buy a glock from in or near the greater columbus area. Thank you

I am not from your area, but that seems to be too much. I got my glock 19-9mm for $400. It maybe had a box of shells through it and I thought that the price was a little high because i could of got a new one for $450. Check out http://www.gunbroker.comthough.

Not in Columbus, but...
http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976419423.htm I've bought a pistol face to face from this guy, his name's Arlen, and he's a crusty old fella, but he'll probably deal if you call him. http://www.gunsamerica.com/search.cgi?uid=6416489258 This guy I bought my Glock 35 from. He's an honest guy and even though he doesn't have any Glocks listed on GA, he probably has several on hand. He sells G17s, G19s, G22s, and G23s for about $475. Very good service and very fair prices. I know it's a little more effort, but when you factor in shipping cost, transfer fee, and not paying sales tax, at those prices you'll probably still come out ahead. Not trying to sell you or anything, these are just dealers I know and have dealt with personally. You can PM me if you'd like phone #s/emails for either of these guys.

Just a thought, but metal prices are up significantly. So expect to see ammo prices increasing even more than they have.

Tayta_Mayne,
If you are in Columbus, Ohio, you may want to check out The Fin (Fin, Feather & Fur) in Ashland, it about an hour or so depending on which part of Columbus, straight up I71. This months flier has Glocks for sale 9mm / 40S&W - $450's all size. They also have a truck load sale on ammo this coming weekend, recommend you get there early. |

Don't know where you shop in Columbus, but down my way the prices are lower. You might consider going to the Dayton gun show this week end, or wait until the Pro gun show in Columbus on Oct. 21,22.

I'm not in Ohio, but those prices sound high. Where I live, the non-45 ACP basic models run below $500 before tax, possibly far enough below that you could get out the door for less than $500.

you live in Columbus?? you poor son of a gun! well i got a GLOCK 23 last year at Vance's Shooter supply for $450 (before taxes), but it was during their twice a year sale (that only lasts like three days). most of the time they sell GLOCKs for about $500 to $550 (not bad, but not great). Columbus sucks when it comes to buying guns, and ranges. wait for a gun show, or go online. new albany is expensive, and blackwing is kind of high ($30 bucks for a G17 mag, before tax) all the small town gun stores near columbus (or 25-35 miles out), are kind of expensive. sorry, move to arizona!

Check out TopGlock http://www.topglock.com/catalog/pistols_glock.htm - not sure which 9mm you want, but the 17 and 19 from them is $459 plus $18 shipping. I've ordered two from them and they came before they said they would. Good folks to deal with if you've got an FFL on your end to work with.

dude! do not buy your G19 now if your planning to spend $570 to $600 thats crazy. unless you really need a gun (for home defense). the thing with Vances is they could be $479.99 in 10 days (no joke), or back to $499. i wanted to buy a GLOCK 34, or 35, at Vances and they wanted $619(before taxes), and i had seen them there for $579 before. i even asked if they could give me the $579 price (cause i have bought "a few" guns from them in the past), and they told me they could not go any lower then $619. i still dont own a GLOCK longslide. anyway unless you have $600 burning ahole in your pocket, just wait, with the money you save you can but an extended slide release, 3.5pound connector, and night sights (cause stock sights stink). hey man i know what its like to really want a certain gun, i really want a GLOCK 34, but i have to wait till i am doing better money wise, and i wont be buying until the price is right.

Yeah, I know. Three weeks ago a 9mm was 469, now it's 576. It seems all of they're guns went up by at least 50 bucks in the last three weeks. I asked the manger what merrits the price jump and he said that there havnt been any big changes. I refuse to buy anything from vance's. Whenever I go in there the prices tick me off. I do however enjoy spending time at the nasr. So like I said if it comes down to it I will go there and try for at least 575 out the door. That also includes 2 passes for they're range, which equals something like 43 dollars. So all together it would be around 530 out the door for the glock. I think tomorrow Im going to go to nasr and try to haggle a little. Anyone have experience with nasr?

hey when i was trying to sell a gun in july, i went to vances (dont laugh), and they didnt offer me awhole lot. i asked why so little, and he said, cause our sales in the summer arent that high, but sales pick up in the fall, so bring your gun back then and maybe we can offer you more. maybe there is something to that i dont know, i would have guessed sales would be higher in the summer, but what do i know. you could try gander mountain, i remember seeing some GLOCKs for around $500 (sometimes alittle, i mean little less), call them first to make sure, and if you do buy from them remember the ones in columbus make you wait for the back ground check (5 to 7 days).

hey Tayta Mayne, go to the Bill Goodman gun knife show, in Dayton, at the Hara Arena.
Exit I-75 & Exit 58 (needmore rd.) 3 miles west to Wolf Rd., turn right. Ahead 1/8th mile. (1001 Shiloh Springs Rd). i saw a GLOCK 19 for $489 (with $15 off), and afew new GLOCKs for $469 (dont think i saw any G19, for that price). afew were in OD green. would have bought a GLOCK34 if they had one in OD green. dont buy at vances or nasr, save some money and get a discount (new) GLOCK, and while your there get some new factory mags for $20 apiece (no joke). i got one G17 mag. and check out GLOCK doctor, nice guy, and he has some really cool target and night sights, he can install for free. now go get your gunshow on!
