7.62 X 45 ???
anyone shoot one ???
I inherited one as part of my father in laws collection several years ago, & cartridges are pretty hard to come by... a buddy of mine showed me how to make brass from a donner cartridge, but it's time consuming... just curious if the are any others out there???

The ammo is rare, and getting more so by the minute.
Same for the stripper clips that are pretty much unique to the rifle and round. I make my rounds from either .220 Swift, 6.5x52 Carcano, or 6.5x54 Mannlicher-Schonauer brass. My website shows how to make it, and I do sell batches of reformed brass every now and again. If you're not into making custom brass to feed your Czech VZ-52 rifle, then places like Buffalo Arms will also sell you reformed brass and new ammo made from reformed brass, but it won't be cheap. ($36.00 per box of 20 rounds)

I have one and I see them turning up at gun shows every now and then. I got lucky when I bought mine at a show because I found 1200 rounds of surplus ammo for $100 a few tables down.
If you use the surplus ammo, clean your gun right after using it. The surplus is very corrosive. |

Norma makes oodles of the stuff.
I buy it in bulk, and don't have to turn the rims down like I do with .220 Swift brass. So, yeah, I mutlilate it, but no more than somebody who buys 7mm-08 brass or .243 brass to make .260 Remington.

I had both rifle and ammo when they appeared a while ago, (maybe 10 years ago) I think I paid 200 for gun and 1000 rounds. Very nice gun, lots of fun to shoot, I sold it when i noticed the ammo was getting a little more pricey, One problem then was the only factory ammo was a berdan primed and about 90% was steel cased. I think i put 2 or 2 thousand rounds through mine and still sold for about 200 bucks. For a while it was cheaper than the old cheap 7.62x39 to shoot, I have to look, but i think i bought 1400 rounds at a time for like 79 bucks. Maybe less, delivered.
