Getting the Perfect SHOT!

I feel much more comfortable when shooting slugs at a target when I am shooting against, or on something. I saw there are special monopods, bipods, and tripods to help assist you when you are about to make that crucial shot. Anyone have experience with these? I was looking at getting a tripod, since they can stand on their own, and I like to stand when I shoot. Thanks for your advice.
