Sports Chalet Boycott

I went to Sports Chalet on Happy Valley Rd. (here in Phoenix) and asked if they sold guns or ammo. The sales person. said "We're from California and we don't carry anything like that". Well you can go back to California, they aren't seeing a red cent of my money.

Well maybe had you visited their web page, you would have known they didn't do guns and ammo.

http://www.sportchalet.com/home/index.jsp

They don't do archery either.

The notion of boycotting a store because they don't see what you want is interesting. Given that they don't have what you want, the boycott really adds up to nothing. You won't buy from them that which they don't have. Heck, I boycott places like that all the time.

Stick with Sportsman's Warehouse. They'll happily sell you all kinds of gun-related items

Wrong, my boycott adds to this: I will not buy any sporting goods, camping or fishing gear, backpacking equipment, batteries, etc, etc from them period. I refuse to give my money to any establishment that is anti-2A. And if I found out that Taco Bell was anti-2A you can bet I wouldn't ever eat there again.

Are they anti-2A or did they just decide that the paperwork, manpower and cost wasn't worth having it in the store?
Liability maybe?

There are quite a few national chains that don't handle anything concerning firearms or archery.

It might be choice by neccesity.

I checked their website and they actually do offer some limited hunting supplies like gun cases and archery targets. Still, screw 'em. I'll shop at Big 5 or somewhere else so I can use my money to support an establishment that supports my 2A rights.

TV- yeah, I watch TV. Pretty much leave it on the Military channel or the weather channel.

Movies- Generally no. I watch movies, but they don't get my money.

Microsoft- HAHAHAHAHHAAHAH!!!! HELLL NO! Oh, man, I HATE M$. I've been winblows-free for like 5 years now. I run Kubuntu on my laptop and my servers run Gentoo or OpenBSD.

Apple- Yes, I eat apples. Didn't know that Apples were anti-2A! Heh, seriously, Mac OSX is supposed to be a fine OS, built off of BSD. I don't use it though.

Ben N Jerrys? Xxx hippies? No thanks. I don't like ice cream anyway, unless it's vanilla on a hot slice of pecan pie.

Anyway, I'm not perfect in any way and I know I probably buy products or use services that support anti-2A ignorance. In fact, I just canceled my Ebay and PayPal accounts tonight after reading about e[B]ay's anti-firearm position. I won't use them again. All I'm saying is when a company comes out and is anti-2A I do my best to stay away from them and not give them my dollars.

Even if a company isn't necessarily anti-2A/anti-hunting I'll lean towards spending at a different company that outright supports 2A/hunting.

In case anyone else is interested, here's a list of companies, organizations and actors/celebrities who outwardly support anti-2A measures and legislation:

I've never bought anything from Sport Chalet when I lived in CA much less here in Phoenix. I always use Big 5 because they sell guns and usually have great deals. They sell guns, I've bought plenty of them over the years and though they are a touch anti 2nd (no handguns), I'll still spend my money with them.

Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day

Yep, once I got some great .38 Special ammo at Big 5...Speer Lawman +p for $6/50rds. I wish they'd run that deal again! I like when they sell those little S&W tanto knives for $14...they make nice little gifts when you add a braided 550 cord lanyard.

I might buy an SKS from them for $150, but I have to research it a little more. Not sure about country of manufacture, etc.

Given that it took you this long to find Sports Chalet, your "boycott" doesn't amount to much.

I also don't see Sports Chalet on the NRA list. So they don't appear to be known to be anti gun. They just don't see gun and gun-related product lines. So they know they won't be getting spillover sales that coincide with gun and gun gear sales, and yet they seem to be surviving in a very competitive market.

What do you expect from a store with the word "chalet" in their name?
