Looking for insight (value) on 2 pistols. FB Radom VIS & a S&W .38 Special

These were willed to me and at first glance I thought the Radom was utter crap. It looked old and I didn't know, until some research, it was a WWII era Polish made Nazi sidearm. It shows many signs of use, both on the barrell and on the trigger / decocker. The thing is, based on the serial number and markings, I cannot determine its value. Having searched gunbroker.com, the FB Radom VIS Mod35 9mm could range anywhere between $300 and $1200.

I'll post pix in next post.

The .380 is brand spanking new as far as quality goes. I don't know it's lineage though based on its serial number and was hoping for some illumination.

The YIS Radom is a historical piece as you've learned. Value will range from $300 - $500 depending on condition, provenance (did the person who willed it to you take it from a WWII Wehrmacht Officer, etc.?). Collectors of WWII German military weaponry might be able to give you more input on value and history. Read Tamara's essay (scroll down to find it) http://cosmolineandrust.blogspot.com/

The revolver is a S&W Model 10 HB heavy barrel in .38 Special. New prices $475+, other wise it's a pretty common (and excellent) revolver and has been around for the last century or so.

I only wish that someone thought well enough of me to will me 2 such items. I'd probably be forced to keep them, clean them and shoot them and then will them to someone I cared for when my time comes.

I don't have info on the handguns, but your thread title almost got it moved to the semiauto forum.

The proper designation of the revolver caliber is .38 Special or .38 S&W Special. The .380 is a different caliber, believe it or not, and is usually only found in semiautos.

I have corrected the thread title.

Not that I don't respect my Grandfather's leavings, he left me a POS 9mm as far as he was concerned. He thought he was leaving me some firearms that I could plink around with and have some home defense.
