Question about Galco holsters, COP slide or the quick slide?

I just got a kimber compact II and am looking for a holster to carry it in. I plan on using for an all around carry holster...hunting and concealed carry. I have rarely carried in the past and this is my first 1911 so any feedback is appreciated. Ive heard a little about Galco and the COP, the concealable belt holster and the quick slide holsters were recommended.

The gun has a 3 1/2" barrel...Any feedback or words of wisdom is appreciated...below are the links to the two im looking at, and please recomend any others I dont know about.

Thank you...

Galco's excellent Concealable is a fine choice and the one I use to carry full time daily. Another good option is the less expensive Combat Master. Either one will do the job well as they carry high and tight.

I use the Concealable with a Galco Cop belt (with a different firearm). I recommend it.

Thanks for the replies...
nemesis...After checking out the site packingheatleather, I just thought id ask if i should go with the concealable holster for the 4.25/4" models or the one for the 3.5" model as I have a 4" gun but if the one denoted for the 4" also fits the 4.25 should I go down to the 3.5" model or would too much barrel be sticking out?

In general Galco's holsters for the 3.5" 1911's will not fit the longer guns well because the bottom of the holster is fitted to wrap around the end of the gun a little. Not saying you couldn't do it though. However, their Commander (4.5") sized holsters do work pretty well with an officer's (3.5") size gun. If I was ordering for a 4" gun, I would get the Commander (4.5") holster.

EDIT: I have the Royal Guard (IWB) in both sizes.

Galco's holsters numbered 266 are specifically designed for the 4 1/4" Commander guns but work more than well for the 4" Kimbers, Springfields, etc.

The holsters numbered 218 are intended for 3 1/2" Officers Models (Springfield Ultra Compact) but work surprisingly well with the 4" guns as they leave only a very small amount of muzzle showing.

I think I got left behind on what size gun you actually have but the Commander-sized guns are from 4" to 4 1/4".

I pretty much buy Galco exclusively for all my holster needs. Only time I was upset was having a 3 month wait on something that was out of stock that I didn't know was out of stock at the time I ordered it. Was worth the wait though.

Kimber Holster

You might want to try www.epsaddlery.com. Great leather goods, fair prices, and usually around 4-8 week leadtime to order. I use one of their #88 Street Combat holsters w/matching double mag pouch for my H&K USP for our local "IPSC 101" match. Very satisfactory.

The gentlemans links are to Galco and they only sell at list price. You can buy a Concealable for $75.96 just about anywhere.

I've been packi' in a very old Galco Jak-Slide for nigh on 10 years now, and it was old and used when I got it!

Get what fits your gun and carry style... it's hard to go wrong!

Holster for Kimber

I have a CDPII that I bought a Bianchi hlster for. It's a series 83, model 14-A in brown. perfect fit, paddle holster. Tight grip but very easy release and doesn't mark the gun. Before you buy anything, take a look at their web site
www.bianchi-intl.com/product.
