3rd Gen 24/7 Pro is a winner
I purchased the .45 and I love it! My favorite handgun yet! It fits my hand like a glove, and shoots accurate and fast. For about $400, this gun is a steal. The SA trigger was a selling point (short reset) as well as the manual safety and 12rd capacity. This pistol is slimmer than many 9mm's I own. I now prefer heine sights over 3-dots.

Could take some pictures of that baby and put them in at the 'Taurus Porn' thread over at www.taurusarmed.net. Kind of an inside joke. Hackers got the old Taurusforum.com and posted porn adds and pictures. There was no oversight nor were there any moderators. There are now. The pictures are of Taurus pistols and revolvers on soft lighted backgrounds. Nothing on a bearskin rug though.
Or, just let everyone over there know about your aqusition and how you like it. Happy to hear things are working out for you. One range report is due though. We've got to have the juicy details. Like the National Inquirer, inquiring minds want to know. |

highly amatuer Range Report
Well, I'm kinda boring at the range. I go in my backyard with a box of winchester whites and shoot at some kind of garbage (bigger than a human head but smaller than a torso) at approx. 25 yards. I manage to make contact 2/3 of the time, but I tend to shoot the bottom right hand corner of anything I aim dead center at.
Complete reliabilty so far (50 rds.), but that's not saying much. Almost every autoloader I've had has malfunction at least a couple times, so I don't get too disapointed when it happens. I shot two mags today at about 30yds, shooting at a foot-wide post with some newspaper stapled to it, plus a 3x5" yellow post-it in the middle. I was able to hit the post-it only three times, with a 6" grouping. Most other shots penetrated or grazed the right side, about 3" to the right and "6 low of the post-it. Most of the right-strewn shots were within a 4" group, which I think is combat accurate. It's no HK, but it's half the price and actually feels comfortable in my hand, very comfortable. This tells me that I should break the trigger in better. The stiffer the trigger, the lower I tend to dip. Next: The lead-infested bowling pin. Recoil isn't bad. The pistol is about as flippy as my Ruger P97, with less percieved "push". I can double-tap it quicker, but this is unnecessary unless I get it ported. I don't have much 1911 experience, but I'm thinking all-steel guns have an advange when it comes to accurate, super-fast double-taps. I remember watching a taurus video of a guy rapid-firing the 24/7 Pro, dumping 17rd 9mm mag in no time flat. That amazed me! Pointless with a .45, though! A little too flippy for that. The tactical model might be less so (I find it butt-ugly, though). I just had to have a hi-cap .45, and this was a good, low-cost, high-quality buy for me. It's no Para-Ordnance, either, but has some neat features in it's own right. Last edited by AutoPistola; October 3, 2007 at 09:17 PM. |

Here's a related and interesting thread from the Taurus Armed forum. While this is not about a 24/7 in.45ACP, this does apply to the 24/7 and cousin Mil/pro series.
Thought you might enjoy this as a bit of trivia. http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/in...p?topic=2654.0 The things we have to do to hit the target. These pistols do take some time to get used to. |

Hey, thanks for the links! I've been focusing on my grip while using snapcaps. Today I took the taurus out and shot 20 rds. at the post (25-30yds). After some tinkering with the sights, I got 12 of those rds. in a 3" group I'm tickled!!
