Glock 19 for overall package, size, capacity, mags, parts, full size grip feel, concealability, ruggedness, simplicity, ammo availble darn near all over the world.

Best Shooter for me: Walther P88 - shoots rings around the Glocks

Best Looking for me: Beretta 92 FS Inox Italian with all steel parts, wood grips and no warning!

Most Classic: Browning Hi-Power and Colt 1911 - I just don't like single action.

There's a world of difference depending on what you want it for.

I've got a couple of .22s and a 9mm pistol. and some revolvers as well. They each have their own place in the scope of things, so you have to narrow down the question a bit.

If this is an "If you could have only one..." question, I'd go with my .22 revolver.

I really love Glocks. Simplicity, low overall weight, comfortable to hold, easy to maintain, reliability. It's just my preference.

There is no one "best" gun. But the one gun that I own, that would suit all my needs is my Colt CCO. It fits the category as an "all purpose pistol (the one I carry all the time)", serving equally well as CCW, home defense and it could be used as a target gun with a 22LR slide.

I voted Colt, since that's what I own, but Kimber, Nighthawk, Para and Sig also make similar versions of this gun.

Colt CCO: 4 1/4" barreled Commander slide on an alloy Officer's frame. Concealable, powerful, easy to shoot accurately.

What exactly is an "all purpose" pistol? You talking caliber or gun manufacturer? The vast majority explode a round down the barrel when the trigger is pulled. Another opinion poll.

I think you would have had a better poll, if you would have asked for model, instead of manufacturer. There are more than one type of Brownings, yet only the HP is very popular. There are many different Smiths. Some people love the M&P's, yet not the Smith 1911's.

The "best" gun I own (my favorite) is my Walther P88 Compact. My best all around pistol is my P99 as I can use it as a CCW pistol and have.
My current carry pistol is a Bersa Thunder 9 Ultracompact, which is a P88 copy.

I voted for H&K. I think my USP compact tactical is an all around great pistol.

I think the best made gun is the Nighthawk.......but that wasn't on the list although Korth was.......

I like em all, but Sig and HK for semis are the best available to the normal person in my opinion (Nighthawk, Brown and Korth being slightly out of reach for many of us)

HKs and Sigs are great, but Walthers always win with me.

Their product offering is diverse, perfectly reliable, extremely accurate and some of the most beautifully designed firearms out there. All opinion, but that seems to be the point here.

Best pistol in the sense what you consider it best. I did not place specific models because then the list would be very long not do able here. Thus, if you consider specific model the best yourself in terms of whatever your needs are then please vote for that make.

To me the best pistol is not really a brand name thing, it is any pistol that fits you well and is comfortable enough to carry, but big enough to handle most jobs.
