BRNO ZKM-611 is this still rare ???
I have a new unfired ZKM-611 take down semi auto 22 Magnum, that I bought 8-10 years ago, with a split forearm... the stock is incredible looking, & I did a basic glue job on the front wood ( it was split in 3 pieces )... if I cleaned up the checkering now, you'd barely notice...
... if I'd have realized how rare this piece was, at the time, I would have bought some extra magazines for it... a quick search for magazines for this model leads me to stories dated 6-8 years ago... any reviews I've seen on the rifle, praise it very very highly... I'm not sure if all of them were take down rifles & they just didn't mention that part in the reviews, or if mine is even more unusual??? even though the wood is gorgous... I think I'd like to shoot this gun, & I find it hard to believe that with CZ USA being as progressive as they are, that I couldn't get some extra magazines, & or possibly even a replacement front stock... they did produce factory 10 round magazines for them, & I was thinking if I could find 4-5, 10 rounders, I'd bring this little gem to the Appleseed training I'm planning on taking this summer, just to have something different... anyone have one, shot one, or know a place that might have magazines ???

Very nice. I was looking for one for awhile, but yikes, they've gotten expensive as you found.

611
ZKM611's are getting harder and harder to find.
I bought one on a 'lark' several years ago, and boy was I glad I did! They are very sweet shooting .22mags, though taking the action apart is a little tricky. Managed to get one ten round magazine from the distributor some years ago, another smart move. Hold onto that rifle! |

brno
The CZ Brno plant closed it's doors in 2005, hence accessories and repairs from them are unlikely.
I got this info and more, at rimfirecentral.com, though you may have to spend two minutes and register. Once registered, go to the CZ page and type in BRNO ZKM611 in the SEARCH box.: Lots of informative posts from owners of ZKM611's there! |

Brno 611
I have one of these new in the box myself. Trying to decide whether to keep it or sell it. I also have 4 10rd magazines for it. It is hard to find anything on these guns.

The prices on these have gotten outrageous over the last few years (see Gunbroker).

I too ran into a "Dead-End" a few years back, when they still had a domestic representative. I was looking for a manual and they said they were not available. I have seen magazines on sale before but not lately. These are sweet shooters with no visible means of support. The newer ones are not as attractive as the older ones. You know, I have always thought that if CZ, wanted to market a new rifle, this would be the one. In fact, at one time CZ and BRNO were one in the same or something like that. Feel that CZ would be the only ones that could do justice to this rifle.
"I'm still looking for spare magazines and copy of a manual" Might as well throw another coin in the wishing well !!! ... Be Safe !!! |

These are probably rare state side but they are quite common in other markets.
I suggest you find a CZ agent or CZ in Czechoslovakia and enquire. I don't have their web address, but some time ago I contacted the factory re regulation loads for a double rifle I had and I found them helpful. I suggest 'googling'. |

I believe you are talking about Tom Knapp and not Don. Most folks miss that he is shooting flying aspirines with a .22 mag. I guess a 10/22 isn't good enough.

I have one and enjoy it.I have one 5 rd and 2 10 rd mags. Not looking to sell.
For those interested, the forend is a hollowed out shell, and the bolt mass to handle the 22 magnum is up there riding on a rod.The 401 and 351 Win selfloaders had a similar setup. When I first bought mine,I had some trouble. There is a threaded bushing/nut that screws into the forward part of the bolt, and rides around the guide rod. That works itself loose in firing.I forget exactly, but when that occurs,it creates an excessive headspace situation as the bolt does not fully go forward.I made a driver to tighten it,and added a little loctite blue.No more problem. Burris used to make a compact 6x 1" tube scope.A local smith with a contact at Burris asked to have one made with a long range duplex for me.That is the scope on it.I have whacked some prairie dogs pretty far with that setup. These rifles are made in a way that is from times past.Nice walnut, excellent real checkering. Now you have me curious, what is the price range on them? |
