It is NOT funny

I don't think this is funny at all, I think it is very sad. It points out how very valuable the 6P principal is in police work. Lets not gang up on this officer.

Why not gang up on her? I see a person that is trusted to safely handle weapons to insure the safety of the public (I know that it is just an impression of safety) unable to know what end of the gun bites. My daughter won't fire a weapon until she can safely field strip it and load mags and insert them. Than we begin the safe operation of said weapon before she gets to handle it loaded.

I agree %100.

If she's not trained, why is she on the force?

I have to agree, if she doesn't know how to insert a magazine how can she know how to operate the gun???? Obviously she doesn't, and that's scarey......

Or she moved so quick that she briefly lost the bubble. When this first broke, some instructors mentioned seeing this same phenomenon on the range during drills. The shooters focused on the drill and didn't realize why the gun wouldn't run.

The problem is ... she doesn't know if she's coming or going.

She would be in a world of hurt if the bad guy was shooting back.

It looks like a staged picture for the media. Notice she is not wearing a vest, and her finger is not on the trigger. Also, her hair is not tied back. Apparently she is not ready for a fight either, or she would get scalped.

It says in the article that the man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Maybe he almost died laughing.

She's lucky the BG didn't know one end of an AR from the other, any better than she apparently did.

Were I a malicious bank robbing type and saw an officer with a visibly incapacitated rifle, I'd charge out and use the situation to my advantage.

What's really funny is someone pointing a finger at another, who doesn't himself know the difference between a clip and a magazine.

"The pointy end of the bullet goes AWAY from you"

How do you even get a magazine seated like that?

It's not staged, and if it were, it certainly wouldn't be in favor of the anti crowd because they think only the police and military should have guns. Then again, they most likely don't know what is wrong with the rifle in the first place.

I don't know what to say. Except my grandma knew how to insert the mag on my brothers friends AR when they came over to shoot it.
And she wanted to try it out. They didn't have to tell her how to put the mag in and this was the first time she shot an AR type rifle.

Marble Falls is a pretty small town and im sure their PD doesnt have the money for better training and armor. With that said they should have put Austin SWAT on a helicopter en route to marble falls.

How much training does it take?

To understand that the pointy end of the ammo goes towards the front of the gun? Like Zorro's sword, "the pointy end goes in the other fellow"!

Oh well, I guess maybe we should cut her some slack, after all, obviously she isn't "professanal enuff to handle a Glock Fou-tay"!

I still don't think this is funny.

Even with the change of venue this is still a sad indictment of the professional charged with our safety.

I hope that the police who come to help hogdogs and those who agree with his views on this subject, don't have the same Cavalier opinion of what ever mess you all are in. Better yet, maybe you shouldn't call the cops at all when trouble comes to your door, sounds like you all are the baddest on the block.

Good Luck & Be Safe

Actually I will not call the cops for help! I don't multi task real well so defense gets my attention and after the fact I can call the report takers to do their job. If that is all I can expect to come to my aid I am better off with my properly inserted magazine! Since I would be armed I also cannot risk the cops having a properly inserted mag and shooting me by mistake... NOPE I will not call nor expect them to come to my rescue! I am 25 minutes from possible aid thus I am better off on my own.

mistakes happen.

people screw up all the time.

driving 100mph to a possible gun fight, shaking like a leaf, and maybe even having wet themselves will tend to cause people to make simple mistakes.

Its funny, only because no one was seriously hurt.

She deserveds the benefit of the doubt: she was there, we weren't.

This provided a much needed laugh today.

That must be the "reverse banana clip"...lol

Kinda reminds me of the youtube video of the cop who says "only people like me have the skills to use this" and then shoots himself with a negligent discharge.
