I say cry foul and let slip the dogs of war!
If they wish a fight we shall bequeath that desire. If ever in our modern history, the lives of immediate contemporaries an unequivocal understanding exists as for why our founding fathers authored the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution it is now upon us. It nauseates me to observe as the liberals show their true colors to the American people and to the world, the color of the communist red flag. Nikita Khrushchev predicted confidently in a speech in Bucharest, Romania on June 19, 1962 that: "The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag...the American people will hoist it themselves." My friends our fate lies before us a junction in the road, we must now choose. Do you wish freedom for security or do you wish freedom. Remember the words of Thomas Jefferson. “Those who desire to give up Freedom in order to gain Security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one”. Thomas Jefferson The Democrats are stealing this election as the American people wait speechlessly and do nothing. If this is the country we have become I want no part of it. AmeriKa you day of reckoning is upon you, speak now or forever seal your destiny. TFW |

No offense, but actually, I believe the quote is:

quote:
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin, 1759[/quote] Regards from AZ |

Federalist,
I've never seen that quote from Thomas Jefferson, but I have seen it from Benjamin Franklin. I know Jeff. He's not old enough to have been there. But Al might have been, but he'd never say; it's too condemning! But, inspite of who it came from originally, I believe it is just as valid today, as it was in the day it was first uttered. BTW, "Cry foul and let slip the dogs of war!" is best read it its original Klingon text! ![]() ------------------ John/az "When freedom is at stake, your silence is not golden, it's yellow..." Actually, as William Shakespeare (an early translator of the original Klingonese)wrote, "Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war!" |

The problem is … my dog is angry but dose not know who to bite.
And BTW the more appropriate phrase for the day is probably “… to be, or not to be … “. ------------------ “This is my rifle, there many like it but this one is mine …” [This message has been edited by Scott Evans (edited November 12, 2000).] |

TFW, I don't know whether or not Franklin or Jefferson made that statement, but I am possitive that there is a large bronze plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty, at the stairway leading up through the statue, on which that quote is engraved. It is attributed to Benjamin Franklin, on the plaque. I've gone through the Statue twice, and seen the plaque.

Shakespear said:
------- **************** -------- ***** All pity choked with custom of fell deeds And Caesar's spirit ranging, for revenge, With Ate by his side, come hot from hell, Shall in this confines with a monarch's voice Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war... -- Antony Act III, Scene 1 _Julius Caesar_ |

Since we are using some quotes here, I think that this line from MacBeth sums up the liberals in this election:
"Tis a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, yet signifying nothing." Sorry don't remember chapter and verse, I was MacBeth in High School, hey its been awhile Ok?
