Smith & Wesson Service
Sent my MP40 in to Smith, checking out why so many misfires.
Anyone know what time frame I should expect? One week, Two weeks, or more? So far S&W has been great, authorized shipping both ways, and that isn't cheap. Fedex Priority Overnight, which they wanted, was $59.25 just sending it to MA from WI ONE WAY! That really surprised me, glad I didn't have to pay that. Regards, SN |

Boring I Know
So far 11 lookers, no comments and that's O.K. with me, I understand not everyone has a S&W service story to share.
Plus, after posting this, I realized "this is just plain BORING", sorry gang. I should just have more patience, it hasn't been that long and I do have confidence in S&W. Regards, SN |

I've never had a need to use their services. My S&W's have always been boringly reliable .

Mine was picked up last week. I am going to call them tomorrow to see where it stands. I've read only good stuff about how fast they are. My dealer said they have the best customer service of any manufacturer.

Sent a brand new 686 back after it developed a push-off condition inside of 200 rds. S&W handled all expenses involved in shipping it to/from, and after sending it out on a Monday or Tuesday, I had it back the middle of the next week. No questions asked. No what/why explanation, but the problem was fixed and never came back. They also installed, without my asking, the proper size sight screw for the Millett target sight I had mounted, as the stock sight screw would protrude through the top strap and bind the cylinder if it was reefed down good and tight. Interestingly, a few days after I had the gun back, I got a letter from S&W letting me know I'd have my gun back in a few days...
All manufacturers turn out the occasional lemon; customer service is what sets them apart, and S&W got two thumbs up in my book. The process was quick and painless, which is the way it should be. |

I had a slight surface rust issue on the slide and barrel of an M&P45. Called S&W and no questions were asked. A call tag arrived and I sent it out. Four days later, the M&P returned with a brand new slide and barrel, plus a free mag
S&W C.S. is top-notch in my book! |

I sent my 952-2 in and it was back to me in 5 business days after their receipt. Fixed perfectly. The whole deal from my call until I had it returned was less than 10 days.
I was impressed.

I called them, 2 days I had the shipping label. then 2 weeks after I sent it in, it was at my door. With a free Magazine. It hasn't missed a beat since.
That experience has sold me on S&W all over again.

I had a very pleasant experience with S&W service. I called them; they sent me a shipping label; they fixed it and returned the gun to me within 2 weeks, with an extra magazine.

I've had to use S&W CS several times, I don't know if that is good or bad. Nonetheless, I've had pretty quick turnaround UPS service. From 4 days to around 10 days.

Wow. I am very impressed and a customer of S&W for life!
Just got my M&P back from S&W after a grand total of 8 days. They paid for overnight shipping both ways. I sent it in because a little rust had formed on the side of the slide and it was shooting about 5 inches high at 25 yards. They replaced the slide and barrel. On top of that they threw in a free magazine and Trijicon night sights. I would have been impressed with the week turn around. I would have been happy with them paying for shipping. I am ecstatic about the free extras. |

Well if it's any consolation, they did send me the wrong free mag for my state...a 10 rounder. But, what the heck, it was free and we are only talking 2 less rounds.

1 week turn around for me also, free overnight both ways and a free factory 15 round magazine for my 5906. I will be a Smith customer for life with that kind of service.

I just got mine back last week for the second time. It has been back to twice for various issues. I just took it to the range Thursday and it is a tack driver, Not one malfunction in 250 rounds.
I've had the mag drop issue. Mag no seating properly, locking failure to lock open, slide slamming forward on mag insert ect. Many issues on a early model S&W. First time it took two weeks, second time one week. I have been very impressed with S&W customer service. I can't say enough good things about them. With regard to the M&P 40, I will say that while I'm disappointed to have had so many issues, it's a freaking tack driver. Any other gun I would have been asking fro a replacement, but I just have a really good feeling about this weapon. I'm committed to making it work right and work all the time. I really love this weapon |
