concealed carry

I have plans on going to the Florida Keys this summer, so me and my family can go scuba diving. My question is what would be the best holster to use while underwater? I know that most people just carry scuba knives, but I want to carry my gun, in case of shark attack. Shark vs. knife, or shark vs. gun. Well I dont want the knife because sharks mouths are full of them. I would rather shoot him in the eye with a 9mm from a distance. Also what if a jelly fish tried to get us. You cant stab them becuse their tentacles are long and poisonous, so I would have to shoot them in the vitals. Any opinions on this??

I'm sorry my friend. Your 9mm will not work underwater.... at least not at any distance. You'll be lucky if:

1) The gun works at all
2) The ammo doesn't leak and won't go bang if the gun does work.
3) The gun doesn't blow up in your hand if it does go bang.
4) Barring 1, 2 or 3, you'll be lucky if the bullet goes 2 feet.

Ummm....

There are so many things wrong with the original post, I really don't know where to begin. Let's leave it at this: you don't need to be carrying a gun underwater.

In your case, I'd recommend against the knife, too. Wouldn't want you to start waving it around and cut through your regulator line.

Just do what experienced divers do: swim away!

What if I plug the barrel with something? Or even put some tape over it so the water cant get in.

You joke (i assume) but what you need is called a powerhead or a bang stick
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bang_stick
it basicly is a spear that fires a shotshell or rifle cartridge
http://www.beco-products.com/images/...t/MVC-230X.JPG
I have never messed with them but being that I like strang firearms have always wanted one, I am not even sure what the legal status of one is.

If you plug the barrel, it will burst when you try to discharge it. Tape won't seal out 2 ATM of water pressure. There's a reason spear guns exist.

Listen, seriously...

It's a really bad idea, sorry, I'm trying to be nice but, really, it's bad.

It MIGHT (I don't know) be illegal.

It's definitely not safe.

Add this to the list above:

5) The concussion from an underwater shot will blow your ears out. Seriously, totally, probably permanently. You'll be deaf.

Curious...

Do you even HAVE a SCUBA certification yet? 'Cause I'm pretty sure that they go over safety issues like this as part of the class. At least, they did when I did it back in '96...

the gaitlin spear gun from ninja gaiden 2

the wasp co2 injection knife

and if all else fails

sharks are ticklish

i think that would be adequate prep for any s.h.f. scenerio for a terrorist shark attack

Please tell me your kidding? If you are serious, you need to do more research and gain more knowledge of firearms in general.
Answer to your question is this carry a good stainless pistol on your boat. I used to carry a stainless shotgun on my boat when i lived down there. Just in case of pirates or sharks. Yes there are pirates in the gulf. DO NOT ATTEMPT FIRING A WEAPON UNDER WATER!!!!!!!! Most are not made to function in this setting. If you are afraid of sharks carry a speargun and a dive knife. By the way i have snorkeled the keys alot and shark attacks are very rare.

Only someone with a name like "Hi-PointMan" could ask a question like that
