We have all read about the situation at Burro Canyon at http://thefiringline.com/forums/show...threadid=53060 but there is a man behind that story that needs our help.

Here is the post the I received from T.J. Johnston, NRA Director and founder of the Gun Owners Action Committee of Orange County, CA:

Bart Moutier has been one of the greatest assets of the Gun Owners ACTION Committee for the past ten years. It is HIS accomplishment that the Speed Challenge has continued every year. He created and built every thing from the target stands to the awesome bowling ball mortar that thrills all the participants at the beginning and end of the event. He has contributed much to our cause, and now he needs our help.

Bart is dying.

He is stricken with cancer that is killing him at a very rapid rate. I'm not certain he will survive this month.

He needs our help to survive the next few weeks, if possible. His biggest problem right now is that he can't eat. Due to the advanced cancer in his throat, he must be fed through a tube inserted in his stomach. This is a very expensive process and he has no way to pay for it. We all need to pitch in and give whatever we can.

ACT Home Health will provide at no charge the nursing services to give him the enteral feedings but the supplies have to be paid for up front. We need money for Bart.

Please send whatever you can in cash or check to:
ACT Home Health,
Attn Cathy Johnston
1540 E. First Street #128
Santa Ana, CA 92701.

All contributions will be kept confidential. Every penny will be spent on him to keep him alive as long as we can. As long as we can afford.

I urge you to reach deep into your pockets and give whatever you can. We can't afford to abandon this tremendous fighter at this time of his dire need. Bart has been so generous to our cause with his time, his energy, his talent. Please send whatever you can now, today.

For Bart Moutier, there is no tomorrow. Please do what you can to help him through today.

I thank you in advance for your consideration.

TJ Johnston

Basically, I don't come here to solicit funds usually; but this is a man that gave his all to the cause and what I'm asking for is that we make him comfortable until he dies.

If you can just slip a dollar -- just a dollar -- into an envelope and send it to the address above it will go to the care and comfort of a man we should all respect for his dedication.

Thanks,

Jim Peel

As it happens...

TFL ended with a bit of surplus in it's budget this month. Our check is in the mail. Hope it helps.

Thanks for everything, Guys. I'll keep you posted.
