Hi all.
For the past few years I've been entertaining a little fantasy about working in the film industry as a gun handler.
However, I don't know anything about getting into the industry.
I've tried to locate contact information for Stenbridge Gun Rentals, but I cannot find anything, and have heard that they may have gone out of business.
So, how would one go about getting into this line of work?
Unfortunately, I couldn't major in Tactical Applications in college, so I settled for Computer Graphics.
Is this simply a matter of knowing someone who knows someone?
Do you have to write a resume' highlighting your gun-related skills?
What, exactly, are the criteria that these sorts of companies look for?
Do you have to have technical knowledge about shooting a film, camera handling, lighting skills, or anything like that?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help.

One downside is that you'd have to live in California.

Stenbridge went out of business about two years ago and sold off most of the inventory. If you persue this you will need to be familiar with all small arms and a darn good gunsmith. You should see they way the guns in Miami Vice were set up to cycle with blank cartridges so the conversion wouldn't show. They plug the barrel with a restrictor about half way down. The restrictor has a small hole in it that allows back pressure to build up. Hole to big, the gun won't cycle, to small and the gun blows up.
