Will anyone admit they like their Jennings?

I have owned a J-22 for over 15 years and found that its a lot of fun, ususally reliable (when clean) and decently accurate (6" at 25 yds)
What more do you expect for $50?
Is Jennings still in business?

I have a J-22 for many years, only tried to fire it a couple of times. It was given to me about 20 years ago, and just sat around in the safe. It is the "only" gun that I finally cut up and discarded, it was never reliable, and I saw no hope of making it so.

I'll admit that I don't like Jennings or their guns, but that's my limit.

I bought one on a whim and it is growing on me. I've only put a couple hundred rounds through it so far. I don't depend on it in any way so I have as much fun cussing it as I do shooting it.
It is surprisingly accurate for its size. Reliability sucks but is getting better the more I shoot it. I'll get two or three magazines through it before it chokes. It hates Federal ammo but likes Remington. Someone suggester Stingers but I haven't bothered to try those yet.
I went to the range with a buddy last week and he brought along several mouse guns, .22 long and .25 caliber. None of them did as well as my Jennings, which horrified me.
If I saw a friend about to buy a Jennings 9mm I would slap him twice and call his mother to take him home, though. What a piece of manure. A guy at the range saw me popping .22s with mine and we swapped for a while. The trigger was horrible, the finish stank out loud and the accuracy... well, I had to check and make sure I was holding the right end of the gun!

I was living in San Antonio when they first came out and being in the military with three chilluns meant living on somewhat of a shoe string, so new gun purchases had to be very... inexpensive.

I bought one, along with a buddy of mine, at a little gun shop across the highway form Westlakes Mercado.

We took them out to A Place To Shoot on the south side of town and had a ball! They were reliable for about 150 rounds before needing a quick field strip and cleaning, then good for another 100 rounds. The triggers were just this side of horrible and the sights only slightly better than those on my P-32, but...

We could reliably knock down the falling steel rabbit targets on the handgun range. I lost mine in Lake Texoma, it fell out of my back pocket while out fishing. Unless some one found it, it's laying under about 60 feet of water near the dam.

Maybe I should buy another... nah.

Years ago on my first gun purchase,a friend bought a Jennings .22 while i opted for a Tanfoglio .25.He was able to shoot happily away while i spent 90% of my time trying to get the POS Tanfoglio to fire more than 2 rounds in a row.

Seems that those who have left negative posts have never owned a Jennings J-22.
