Carpal tunnel ammo advice

I have to get cut on in the near future. I have this condition in both hands. I'm right handed and that side may not get any worse. Question as follows. My .44 mag hunting load for deer has been a Keith type SWC 250gr at 1420fps out of a Ruger Bisley. Does anyone have actual experience in using a 180 or 200gr JHP on deer. I want to try using the same load, 23grs WW-296 but with the lighter bullet. Thanks all for any advice.
