Just a comment that arguments on the pros and cons of warranty service by any gun manufacturer can be pretty academic when the gun is not just a playtoy. I am reminded of the remark by Melvin Johnson in one of his books that if a gun fails in combat, you can write a nasty letter to the manufacturer, and if you are lucky it will be found and forwarded by the grave digging detail.
