Nuts too tight

I had the same problem on the same press. I would remove and lube the ram after every session with no improvement. I knew mine was not as smooth as it should be because my friend has the same press and his is smooth as silk. The problem on my press was the two lock nuts that are near the bottom of the press were too tight. They were pulling the linkages together too tight and causing a bind. Try to loosen both nuts 1/4 turn and I bet it will instantly be better. In fact you can adjust just how much tension you want on each stroke of the ram with these 2 nuts. Light lube frequently works better than heavy grease or oil on the ram and hinges. Let us know what works. Joel
