The thing that got me started on this is reading about the Great Plains Lyman rifle. People mention it's superb accuracy and hole touching 100yd groups. My Lymans Black Powder handbook shows slow velocities and low breech pressures from this rifle. Being it has a 32 inch barrel I wondered, isn't that similar to the 29 inch barrel on my CVA gun? The Powerbelt being close to a round ball in function. Basically the answer was yes and the performance to be expected was similar. Very interesting.
