Just wanted to add a tidbit. We are most vulnerable at home when we are:
1) Sleeping
2) In the bathroom
I have yet to figure out what to do about the first part except having a dog around and sleeping with one eye open.
As for the second part, I think it is reasonable to assume that if calculating home invaders are hoping to gain the upper hand, one such tactic would be to monitor the bathrooms. After five minutes, it would be their cue to strike.
Therefore, I don't think it's too much to ask to remove any windows in the bathroom. If you want sunlight, you can always have a skylight instead. If you're on a budget such as myself, a Solartube isn't too far-fetched.
Just a thought.
