Isn't that the colt Delta Elite in 10mm? A gun as powerful as a magnum revolver and as easy shooting as a 1911

This is not about the pistol - this is about the buyer. :-)

My normal carry gun is a Colt Combat Commander .45 ACP. I found it at a swap meet for a reasonable price and like it very much. However, I also have a Colt 1911A1 .45 ACP that was the second 1911 I own, the first stupidly traded of for somthing I don't even remember. it was a very long time ago. That number two1911 isn't very pretty but I became friends with a gunsmith by the name of F. "Bob" Chow who was well known in the San Francisco Bay Area for building competition grade 1911s in direct competition with Frank Pachmeyr. I was having a bit of a problem with that 1911 so I took it to Bob to have him check it out. He told me to come back Saturday and when I did he told me the gun was fine and that he'd tuned it up a bit. I'll say he did, very nice trigger, gun tightened up noticeably and groups were much smaller. I still have that one and a couple more he built but that one he did for me back around 1960 is the one I'll always keep. It's been my carry piece until I got the Commander and if Bob was still around I'd have sent that one to him to work his magic on.

I agree the P2000 is nice.
One annoyance is there are zero options for sights. There is talk that the new VP9 OR model uses the same cut, but no confirmation with pictures. Personally, I don't love the trigger either. I think gray guns reset is required. I really like the P99 more for the trigger, but all three P2000/P30/P99 are fun to own.

Is there such a pistol?

The VP9 OR sights will work on the P2000. I have done so with mine. There are also the Meprolight options and Trijicon HDs and Dawson has a set with a fiber optic front if you prefer that. |

No, but there may be a revolver that fits the bill.

Throughout my career I have purchased, sold and traded many handguns. Never been down the competition road.
Now that I am retired, I have settled in to one handgun, Shadow Systems MR920 Elite.

Hmmm, interesting. Since retiring I seem to be settling into more handguns.

Never want to buy another pistol? No. But, I can say this. I have a Sig X-Five Competition 9mm, and when it comes to shooting, I rarely ever want to shoot a different pistol. I have CZ's, Tanfoglio, Hi-Powers, 1911's, 2011, Glock, and my all time favorite to shoot is the Sig X-Five. It's just that perfect for me - makes me look like I'm a really good shooter. I have had other shooters try it out and they can't believe how good they shoot with it.
If it didn't shoot so darn well, I'd make it a safe queen. It's my go-to range gun and I just can't put the thing down. |

Yes and No
I don't really "need" anything else but may buy something else in the future. The last thing I will probably ever sell is one of the first handguns I ever bought. That would be a 6" 686. While I love semi auto's, it's hard to beat a 357 as an all around gun.

I picked up a cheap old Smith & Wesson 28 HP. Best trigger in the gun cabinet. It was my last handgun purchase and I have yet to find anything else that turns my crank since.
If I could find a 10mm double stack, hammer fired, DA/SA, decocker only, I would be the first in line to buy one, but such a firearm doesn't seem to exist. |

I kinda felt that way after I bought my Coonan, perhaps because it was the most I had ever paid for a gun. But I got over it.

I’m 60, just retired fully from LE, and I find I just don’t go shooting anymore for recreation. I sold a gun collection a few years ago, and I’m down to a hunting rifle, my daily carry, and a pistol my mom left me.
I’ve been to gun counters countless times since I purchased my P365XL at release, and I’ve even fondled a few other firearms I’ve watched videos on. So far, I haven’t come close to “pullin’ the trigger” and getting any of them. This SIG checks all of the boxes for me, and I don’t see that changing for the time being. |
