blade tech IWB review

quick review: good holster, slightly high price. recommended.

i ordered a blade tech IWB holster for a beretta mini-cougar w/ adjustable belt straps and j hooks for a 1.25" belt. arrived 2 weeks and 1 day after order. total cost $75 (5 shipping, 10 for j hooks, 60 for holster).

fit and finish are great. retention is adjustable via two phillips head screws. available in several material finishes. blade tech is one of the few manufacturers who makes IWB holsters for this gun.

the holster is very comfortable and w/ the belt straps installed it stays in place very well. the j hooks are useless and i suggest not ordering them. the gun is held securely and can be mounted either in FBI cant or straight drop.

customer service was top notch.

only complaint is the price is $15 more than most competitors. (talon tactical's deep six, $45, is highly recommended but does not make a holster for the beretta cougar)

I carried my G30 in a Blade-Tech IWB for a year and a half. Converted to a Comp-Tac Gurkha. It's thinner, more stable, and sucks the gun in tighter to your body (less print) and it's more comfortable.

I am totally satisfied with my BT IWB holster.

The best? Who knows? It is certainly one of the best.

The Blade-Tech IWB works for me. I have one for my Glocks and another one for my Kimber. I wear a Ted Blocker gun belt and those BT's carry just right. I would like to point out that I have an extensive holster collection and for IWB the BT is my pick.

I've used the Blade-Tech UCH for some time now and really like it. Holds well, easy to draw and reholster, thin, positions well, and very well made. I've had some quality leather holsters made by companies like High Noon & Galco, but I use my Blade-Tech UCH exclusively now.

Another thumbs up for Blade tech, I ordered a IWB for my keltec
p-11 very happy with it. So happy I just placed a order for my new Beretta 92FS although this is for a OWB and two mag carriers. Hope to see the same quality this time round (1 year or so later).

Blade tech came through again.......today I received my order that I called in less than a week ago. Last time around it was over 2 weeks so it seems they have sped up the process time somewhat. Same good quality second time around.

Did you call Comp-Tac? They don't list the CZ-75 on their website, but I have a Ghurka for my -75 sitting on my desk.

me? i believe i did email them and was told they dont make a cougar holster but i emailed so many i cant be sure.

regardless, im happy w/ my blade tech. how do the clips on the gurhka feel? they seem to be much farther apart, making the holster extend to a greater percentage of the waistband than on most holsters. i imagine this is great for stability but could be uncomfortable at times or in certain positions (it looks like if the gun were carried at 4 oclock the rear clip would be right over your spine).

i emailed blade tech yesterday regarding the j hooks not keeping the as gun stable as i wished and received a call from one of their reps this afternoon.
after discussing the design w/ him for a few minutes he explained the hooks are designed small to help w/ concealment, the theory being that a big clip covering the belt is rather obvious. the cost is decreased stability, the gun resting on the pants not the belt.
i explained that stability is more important than that factor b/c i wear my shirt untucked and he offered to custom make a solid clip which i will run my belt through for NO charge. and i get to keep the original j hooks to boot.
this is absolutely great customer service far above what i ever expected and makes the price of the holster, IMO, very reasonable.
i cannot recommend these guys enough.

Yup. The clips are about 4" apart, center to center.

It is. This is the most stable holster I've ever used. It does not move, slide, or shift.

Not that I've noticed. Usually the forward clip sits right behind the illiac crest of my right hip, and the rear one is over my right hip pocket. The design of the holster also tends to pull the butt of the gun into your side, making for very effective concealment.

Glad you like your Blade-Tech. I have one of their belt holsters that I like alot.
