Pictures of your reloading room/setup?
I boxed up everything in my reloading room when I put my house up for sale this summer. House didn't sell, so I took it off the market and have decided to stay for a couple more years.
My reloading/gun room is a dedicated room in a finished basement, but the ergonomics of my setup never seemed quite right. I now need ideas to set it up again. I have a nice sturdy built-in countertop on 2 walls. I need inspiration on shelving, storage, placement of equipment, etc. What works for you? Here's your chance to brag. Any pics appreciated. Thanks.

When I moved into my new house I wanted a dedicated room for reloading. I built a series of cabinets for this. I converted the closet for ammo storage and brass storage
This is the room with the bench closed Here is the cabinet open with my Dillon 650. I have a moount for my rockchucker also but it is not on in this pic. I use acro bins and a wall mount for all my bullets. I load 23 different calibers right now. Here is the other side of the room. This cabinet has my 2 tumblers and case seperator. This is the closet. I have 16 shelves which each fit 2 plastic shoe boxes full of brass. The left side has heavy duty shelves for all the loaded ammo. |

IF you look at the second pic you can see the left set of doors folded in. If you look closely you can see the higes for the right set. They are bifold and then they slide in like on an armouir(sp?). I do cabinet stuff on the side so this was not that bad cost wise. The frame is stong enough to drive on. It is nice not having people know you do all this stuff.

Thanks, most people cant appreciate it. The acro bins are the best thing for this. Tehy make reloading multiple calibers very easy to organize.

If you look real close. Right behind the head of the hammer is a Classic Lee Loader in .223. That's for sizing cases

I wish mine was a neat as yours. If I built a new house, I could get the room I need.
From the right, Ponsness-Warren 800b 12 gauge progressive Berdon progressive in 45ACP Star progressive with Hulme casefeeder and auto index, with three more heads .223, 45, 38, 44Mag Dillon 550 with 7 heads Rockchucker Hidden in there is a Pact scale, and a Niel Jones powder measure. Dillon primer pocket sweager, Forester case trimmer, ohaus scale. The tumbler ( 5 Gallon can... home made) and a Midway vibratory are out of the picture. I keep all the ammo and the powder locked up. That's a carryover from when I had 5 kids ( and their friends) running around the house If you are looking for storage bins , go to Lowes. My bench has these green and blue stackable bins across from the left to the right ammo storage cabinets. |

Jeeper that is pure inspiration.
Jeeper, that is the best reloading setup I have ever seen. A real work of art. I will burn this into my brain and strive towards this when I buy a house.

El Rojo
Thanks, I put a lot of time into it. Some of the items you cant see are a pull out shelf which my media seperator is on and one for all my powder. The sad part is that I might be moving in the next year and have to sell my house and rip all that stuff out. |

if my wife ever sees those pictures of your set up, I'll have to kill you!!
VERY nice, but does make me feel inadequate when I look at my messy work space.

SW 586....
Howdy, back at you. I don't get to Springfield very often, mostly just "passin thru" on I44. I think I could start a store, I've got more junk than I should have. I only wish I had the room that Jeeper has. Unfotunately, the "benches" were there when I moved in, and are made from interior doors, which means they are not too sturdy. I mounted the loaders to a 3/8 thick plate of aluminum, which is bolted to the bench. If I had to do it over again, I would go for a solid door or countertop with a Formica top(without the round edge), and I would still mount the presses to an aluminum plate. that way you can tap the plate to mount all kinds of presses. I do like there to be a place for the legs & feet in front of the press. I do most of my loading while sitting on a high stool. I have an old telephone operator's stool, it rotates and has a back. It saves the feet and back. When I first started, with just the rockchucker and a set of 38/357 dies, I thought I would never run out of room. Now, after seeing Jeeper's I am thinking of tearing it all out and expanding. I have to approach this cautiously, as I still owe my wife two rooms to be painted, which I promised to do in exchange for rehabbing the garage, and putting in a 4 post lift for my car,and an air compressor. |

Jeeper, That is some fine work! All I have to offer is this: The cabinet: http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?...489&p=56069474 and the mess within
I hope my wife never sees this thread.

Here is my bench in the garage. As is evident by the picture, I have been thoroughly brainwashed by my wife to keep it clean and neat... however in an act of rebellion, I left the tumbler out Last edited by locolife; November 6, 2001 at 12:13 AM. |
