Hogue Overmoulded Stocks?

Does anyone have one? If so do you like it and what is it like?

There have been a bunch of negative posts on varminthunters.com, with no positive posts, about Hogue stocks. The varmint guys don't think that the Hogue stocks are rigid enough. I tried a Hogue overmolded free-float tube, which doesn't relate to the stock question, and found the tube to be ill-designed and poorly constructed.

I'm using a Hogue O/M rubber stock on a 10/22 with carbon bull barrel. I like the Hogue, comfortable in the pistol grip area.

The Hogue O/M stock is fine on a little short Volquartsen 10/22 I own. Makes for a great durable little rabbit rifle.

But personally, for anything else I must concur with the "Not Rigid Enough" thought. Also, in a heavy coat the stock "grabs" everything & can make the gun slow to mount. I can only imagine that this would become a real issue on a longer rifle. k

Put one on an M70 I have and liked the feel of it as well as the shape of the forend. It was grabby and I can see where drawing quickly could result in getting hung up.

Mine had a defective swivel stud so I took the stock off to send it back. I put the wooden stock back on it and I think that I will keep it that way and get a refund instead. They are a nice stock for the price but have their drawbacks.

They are, however, a a way to have a non wood stock that is "warmer" and quiet.
