"Hey HANDY how many lives have you taken. Have you ever had to be in a real live situation with guerillas shooting at you. Personally I prefer the knife, go into someones chest with it and show you how to murder right."

Well, I don't play Counterstrike or any of the Special Ops computer games, so you're definitely one up on me.

The HK is definitely a more attractive gun, but it's usually half again the price of the Glocks. Same reliability; more expensive gun and parts; virtually no aftermarket accessories (I'm discounting various holsters - selection is adequate). I simply shoot the Glock 19 better than my HK USP 9 compact. The sights come up already aligned for me while I always have to adjust to get on target with the HK.

HK vs Glock

These are both excellent handguns and I am fortunate to own both. In 45 caliber I prefer the HK but in 9mm and 40, I like the Glock. In all calibers I find the HK's slightly more accurate, much better sights and I prefer the grip angle, but they are bulkier and harder to conceal. The glock is more compact and offers an efficient power to weight ratio. You can't go wrong with either.

neither. i've crappy experiances with glocks and don't care for the grip on the hk usp or the looks. i'm not saying they're junk because they're not.

glock

i never saw a gun do the things that i have seen the glock do. as far as stress and durability. so i would rather glock because i know 99.9% of the time the thing will fire every time.

I own both, HK just has more style. It's reliable like the Glock, but better in every way.

I used to have a USP45 Expert and a Glock 23. Now I just have a USP45 Expert. The Glock wore down my trigger finger during long days at the range and somehow it chewed up my middle finger where it met the bottom of the trigger guard.

I own both

...and it depends on the caliber for me. In 10mm and .45 GAP, I'd opt for Glock; in every other caliber, I'd go with H&K.

It Lives!

Pretty well a no-brainer, IMO.

Glock vs. P7, on absolute scale. P7, easily
Glock vs. P7, on a value scale (price/quality): P7, by a fair margin
Glock vs. USP, on an absolute scale: USP, by a fair margin
Glock vs. USP, on a value scale: toss-up; probably the USP wins

This depends on use for which employed, caliber compared, and personal preferences, of course, such as grip angle, mag release type, desire for manual safety, etc., so there's no right or wrong answer (except on the first of the above 4 ) . Didn't consider the P9S. I think that the USP has the reliability dept. won over glocks, in general, which is the primary reason I think they win, with better overall quality & quality of parts, and better grip angle being the secondary reasons.

Who is fvaidya? And why did you resurrect this thread Handy? I suspect the answer to these 2 questions are tied somehow....

I'ld take the H&K P2000SK in .40S&W for CC, and USP Expert in .45acp for Range/home..

Glock for me. Having owned both and comparing them at the range my conclusion is the Glock is better for me. Shooting both in the same caliber, my split times with the glock was always better. 1st shot accuracy with the glock was better. Reliabilty same with both.
I have also noticed at matches you see Glocks in the hands more than H&Ks
I know the Glock is cheaper and you will say that is why. I am not talking about the average shooter. I am talking about the top shooters. If the H&K was so superior, don't you think somebody would win one of these matches with an H&K.

It is an ancient thread but I'd add, if you can buy a used H&K for $295 grab it. If you don't like it you could sell it for a couple hundred dollars of profit and use the money to buy the Glock. Seems like a win-win situation. I'd also look for a used Glock. There are a lot LEO returns available, with night sights for great prices.

Trying to compare the H&K to a Glock is like trying to compare a Hyundai to a Lexus. Completely different designs for completely different missions at completely different prices.

I think HKs and Glocks just don't compete against one another. It's like
comparing VW Passat with Mercedes S-Class. You can buy two Glocks for
the price of an HK.
