Help on 2nd Amd. court cases.....
Can anybody help me out? I am looking for the case, I believe it was in D.C. where it was ruled that the police are not here to protect the individual but society as a whole so that no municipality can be sued by an individual for lack of police protection. I think the case involved two girls who were repeatedly raped in their apartment and each time they got the chance they called the police. the police kept coming to the door but wouldn't enter or something like that. Any help would be appriciated.

The case you're looking for is Warren v. District of Columbia. Other cases that cite essentially the same thing are Riss v. City of New York, 293 N.Y. 2d 897, and Lynch v. N.C. Dept of Justice, 376 S.E. wnd 247 (N.C. App. 1989)

O.K. the editing function isn't working for me for some reason. Case is indeed Warren v. District of Columbia. I can see the corrected message on the edit screen, yet if I read it from the forum, it shows my dyslexic message. Go figure.

You need to hit "Refresh" or "Reload", depending the browser you're using.
