Efforts to ban ammo in LA are being considered in other states. For more news look at the National CCW Reciprocity Foundation site: http://www.homestead.com/njccw/nationalccw.html

Yes, they've been talking about this for quite some time. Isn't California a wonderful place?

Sometimes I think all of the voting pro-gun people should move to California so we can put a stop to this madness. Once they get away with this crap in California other states tend to follow thier lead.

National CCW:

What ever happened to the 1968 or 69 passed state pre-emption law in calif, which had precluded the enactment of such local laws/ordinances. A San Francisco anti-handgun law, had been thrown out on the basis that it ran counter to existing pre-emption act. Has this been repealed, or is this thing merely another example of California baloney, not to mention the possibility of "the Californication" of the country?

It isn't just CA. Senator Barney Frank of Taxechussetes has introduced legislation to ban the production and sell of 9mm ammo. Fortunately, the bill hasn't gone anywhere.

Barney Frank is a congressman, not a senator.

Calf. has pre-emption. This means cities can't enact gun bans. However when West Hollywood baned cheap handguns the issue went to court. The court refused to enforce the pre-emption law and so there is a current cheap handgun ban in West Hollywood. Pre-emption is only a protection when you have judges who can read the law. what can you expect from the land of fruits and nuts.

As a side note pre-emption protects guns not ammo. This is the anti-gun argument. Later

Barney, no not the dinosaur, is more interested in your gun than your weapon!
