Bobcat MP5?

I want a 9mm carbine. I'm really close to getting a Vector Arms Uzi Semi Carbine. I heard Vector is no longer making the IMI and only has the Group Industries recivers now. So I'm thinking about a Bobcat MP5 9mm Carbine now.

I like my new JLD copy of the HK-91 and am interested in another German style firearm.

Anybody have any experience with the Bobcat?

The two different versions I tried were well made and reliable with the right ammunition.
They're made to function best within certain pressure levels and bullet types.

I've heard mixed things about the Bobcat MP5 clone. You might also want to look at Ohio Rapid Fire's version of the MP5, I have heard nothing but good things about them.

LoadIt,
Your last sentence was asking if anybody had any experience with the Bobcat, that's what I was referring to.

Thanks DPris.
I'm still looking into different manufacturers of the MP5.

Anyone know about the Vulcan Arms version? I like the idea of the scope rail already on the firearm and the cheaper price tag

Vulcan Armament has a dubious reputation. They used to be Hesse, and I would shy away from them. That is not to say that they cannot turn out a good product occasionally, but I have yet to hear anyone pleased with their Vulcan/Hesse firearm.

A successful business, that makes good products does not have to change it's name. Bobcat, does not fit into that category.

Well to be fair there is some ambiguity on the exact origin of Bobcat. I used to believe like many they are were just Special Weapons under a different name, but some have stated that Bobcat's owner is a friend of the owner of Special Weapons and bought their equipment. Other than that, they are not supposed to share any other affiliation. That does not make Bobcat's pedigree any better, however. This was discussed to some degree over on www.thehighroad.org.
