While we're talking porkers, Survivor show pig killed with spear/knife?

My buddy who is a die hard Survivor show fan said in one episode a couple of seasons back, one of the guys on the island jumped onto the back of a wild hog and killed it with a knife or spear single-handedly. Can anyone confirm this, and did they guy get hurt doing it?

This is all I can find so far on it (do NOT click on the first one unless your popup blocker is on):

Consider it confirmed.

In Turkey it is a right of passage to manhood. My father was witness to one such "ceremony" when he was stationed there in the Air Force.

Well one of those links says it was staged by the show producers; not a wild pig. This was season 2, in the Australian Outback where this supposedly happened. I find it difficult to believe that some yahoo was able to not get himself tusked doing this, unless it was a piglet.

It was a small pig (50lbs maybe). It looked nothing like a domesticated pig, but if a wild pig can be domesticated in a couple generations then I can't say one way or the other.

It didn't look phoney to me.

I saw the episode and I am a hog hunter-the method by which the hog is caught and tied.
The only thing I question is his ability to catch the pig in the woods. They are pretty fast but hard to catch in a pen, in the woods a pig that size would be really hard for one man to "him" up and catch. It could be done and when caught holding him for the kill would be no problem.

I have some experience hunting hogs myself. Not as much as some but enough.
I wonder what a hog looks like in australia in the wild. Is that a first generation ferrel? Was the hog disoriented due to the fires. Did he get some smoke or fire damage before this episode. Was it all staged by hollywood?
One thing I do know. I have put the sneak on a few hogs in my day. To get close enough for a bow shot, roughly 50 yards or closer, I have had to work the wind and do alot of standing and waiting. That expert bushman from New Jersey put the Converse all star stalk on that pig. Skinnied up on him in a Rodeo rampage of 8 seconds flat. Put the OJ ungowa on him with a knife sheepshank knotted to a stick with some shoelaces. Shuffled the coupe-de-gras on him from tippey toed tennis shoes and released his spirit with a Zulu cry.
Enough to make me rethink my need for stick and string or lead and powder.
