Anyone here a fan of the Sig P6?

I had the pleasure of shooting many years together with J. Rehr, who had been employed by SIG Sauer to test the pistols when he was still in school. He later got into the BGS and promoted to the GSG9. Old test targets signed by him can still be found.
When we went for a beer after the range, he told us that the P6 was not very well liked among the GSG9 guys, the P220/226 had better ergonomics and I immediately agreed when he let me shoot the guns in direct comparison on the next range day. The P6 can do nothing that the 228 cannot do but the difference in mag capacity should be worth a few Dollars. |

There have been two Sig pistol series that I simply could never grok and the P6/P225 is one. At the time I had my P225 I also had a P226, SP2009 and my P230 and the latter three were frankly fabulous. The P225 though was simply miserable.
The other series that I simply never found comfortable is the P290RS seen in the first panel in both 9mm Luger and .380. And the current family portrait includes my P239, another single stack compact Sig in 9mm Luger. The P239 is everything I had hoped for in the P225. What is missing is an example of the SigPro line. I foolishly sold my SP2009 seen in the upper image and have been watching for another example to show up for about two decades now.

I don't know if I'd call a P6 a "Budget Choice" anymore.

I have a West German P225, which is the commercial variant of the P6. I bought it to complete my collection of West German P series handguns.
