Keep us posted on the Escort. I could never get mine to behave reliably.

I bought an Escort when they first came out back in 60s. I carried it everyday in belt pouch while engaged in surveying in rural areas. Never did have emergency use for it but was always fooling around shooting / plinking. Everyone had a small 22 pistol that was carried in belt pouch, not holster. Anyway mine shot anything put in it, no problem. I got pretty good plugging things at 15’. Point shooting was the only thing it was good.
I think these Escort 61s were the basis for the 422 series which were good field grade pistols. Not target guns but with practical accuracy, especially the models with adjustable sights. The 4” model is the ideal 22 pistol for rural EDC carry , light , compact and accurate. Also easy to keep clean. |

Honestly I have no idea. It was so long ago it was whatever the Feed & Seed or gas station was selling at the time.

new one on me
Yeah, I'd never heard (or seen) an Escort until this post (unless is was made by Ford)!
Thanks! |

I got my Dad one but he was not enthused over a small automatic and stuck with his revolver. I traded it away.

The Escort is new to me, never heard of it before.
Looks cool, but being a Ruger fanboy I'd probably go with a bearcat instead.
