Unusual Colt Anaconda x2
Just added another pony to the stable this weekend.
Another 5" Anaconda which is a very unusual barrel length. Here's the twins after being reunited. Jeff (GUNKWAZY) |

Those are very nice; how is it you've been able to acquire not one, but two 5" Anacondas? I've never even seen one with that barrel length. Please elaborate on this pair of beauties.

They are a little known barrel size.
They (the 5 inchers) don't even show up in any of the gun books. Just the 4,6 and 8 inchers are listed. The first one I purchased from a local gunshop about 2 years ago. The owner called me because he knew I collected revolvers. He told me he had just took an Anaconda in on trade. I asked him what barrel size it was and what caliber, he said .44 Magnum and about a 5 inch barrel. I said, you need to clarify. Is it a 4 or 6 he said right about in the middle. 1 hour later it was mine and a phone call to Colt confirmed the length I had never known existed. Just this last weekend I went to a very small local gunshow and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw what looked like another 5 inch Anaconda. The seller had no idea that it was a unusual barrel length. A couple of dead presidents later, she was mine. So, if you see an Anaconda with 2 vents in the ribbed barrel, but the barrel looks longer than a 4 inch tube, better grab it. You may never see another. Good luck on the snake hunt. Jeff (GUNKWAZY) |
