as much as I love my Browning Hi Power "Capitan" my pragmatic side would scream out Colt Combat Commander .45 simply because it is stainless

My 7mm rem. mag. I can shoot anything I'd ever want to eat...even bunnies if I get 'em in the head... BUT that's a decision I wouldn't want to have to make either... If you ever do, choose wisely for your circumstance.

What a choice to make.
House fire? My grandads 742 woodsmaster SHTF situation? My Bushmaster AR-15 & pick up a case of ammo for whichever along the way. I hope it never comes down to that though. Will |

My Winchester 94 pre 64. I killed my first deer with it when I was 12.

As one poster said, it would depend on the reason for the one-gun-only circumstance - Commies coming over the hill? K-31 Society meltdown? Henry H001 House on fire? Custom-smithed 1911A1 my dad gave me If my choices are not mainstream, consider the fact that I'm limiting this fantasy exercise to guns I actually own. I'd love to say, "why, I'd grab my $2000 Rock River AR" or "my FAL and a backpack of NATO 7.62", but I don't (yet) own those. Last edited by jsmaye; February 10, 2009 at 09:02 AM. |

I love my Ruger No. 1 45-70 with a Nikon Monarch the most........ but, my left handed Savage 110 7mm Rem would be my most practical and all around useful rifle. It would be tough, but I'd have to take my Savage.

One gun?
My Colt AR15 lower. And then I would have to cheat with about 50 different configurations of conversions and uppers. Bunch of different holos, scopes, irons, etc.

I have three kids that would have to be gotten out first...But if I could save one firearm...just one it would be my M1 Garand. But I'd be really ticked about loosing the rest hopefully the safe would do it's job.
