Show your Colt SAA's !!!

Are the Colt Single Action Army's worth it? What're they up too, 1200 or so?
I've read about them but never actually had the pleasure of handling any beyond a quick glance.

Post a pic of your SAA and tell me just how sweet it really is. How's the triggers, accuracy, handling, and general shootability? What reloading power level is suitable for them?

There are indeed many here that shoot the veneralbe old design and find it quite well put together. I believe there will be a fair number added this evening.

As an act of contrition for my occasional snarky remarks about wire-tie chastity belts, I'll give you a free bump.

I'll be the first to go:

These two Colt's have been tweaked by Oglesby & Oglesby of Springfield Illinois. They are slick as glass with regards to their actions.

Both are chambered for 45 Long Colt.

I feel your pain man... I bought one of those recently too... and like you I had to part with a few things so I wouldn't have to make payments. What the Hell are we thinking sometimes?

Yeah, I would say it's worth the $900.

Here is my Colt SAA. It is .45LC. Fired it for the first time about a week ago and boy was it fun. A week after I bought it I had to buy a pricy set of earrings and a pendant to maintain the myth of domestic tranquility

My bride has given me several years of happiness and two beautiful boys.

Yeah, I guess its' worth it, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Sundown, that's the only reason that's acceptable. Good deal.

So can anyone tell me how tough the SAA's are in terms of reloading for them? Not that I want to push it, but let's face it, if I get one, it'll prolly never see a factory round.

Are the (nice) color case hardened ones like jlundy46's and sturnwgewehre's in the realm of the vaqueros? Would the other ones (like the nickle one I'm considering) any different in terms of strength, or the same?
