Taurus Model 66---
Does anyone know the length of the cylinder on a Taurus .357 Magnum
7 shot revolver like they are currently making? I'm assuming that they're the same for both the blued and stainless models. Thanks |

About 1.586" by my micrometer. My old eyes aren't what they used to be and I may be wrong, but this it the 'average' of the 6 readings that I took. Very Good question. I like my M66.
It points well and shoots very accurately. I hear a lot of negative yaks and yuks on Tarurus firearms but I have had nothing but positive experiences with this revolver. About 1500 rounds through it, so far. Good bang for the buck: accurate, reliable and cost effective. So what if it's made in Brazil? It works. LM...Ft. Worth, Tx. PO1 USN: 1964-1972 Viet Nam Vet. Thanks HJ for measuring the cylinder length on the Taurus model 66.
I'm trying to see which .357's have longer cylinders to shoot the 180 grain bullets when seating them out a little farther. Have you ever tried any of those? They're supposed to be one of the best bullet weights for bear. The model 66 has a really good looking design. Thanks Again |
