Yes, the SCOTUS held that a person's right against self incrimination applies to weapon registration.

Is it a crime to lie to a cop? It depends on which cop.
In most states it's not a crime (you MUST check local laws). If the cop is a FEDERALALE, it is a crime to lie to them. 18 United States Code section 1001. This is what most politicians are convicted of when they lie during a Washington-style cover-up. |
