Good .22lr and .22 WMR snap caps?
Where / what type are high qualilty snap caps for rimfires - .22lr, .22 mag, and for that matter .17 hmr? I had some little red plastic .22lrs, but they cracked after only a few dry fires on them, because the rim gets hit hard - there's no way to spring-load a primer to absorb the firing pin, as there is with a centerfire - is there any snap cap which has come up with a solution to this problem? Because a really hard rim would be just as hard on the firing pin as no round at all in there, it seems to me.

I always pack away a few spent .22 lr cases and use them as snap caps. You might have to be careful in not using a spent case from a pedestrial .22 rifle/handgun and putting it into a target .17/.22 rifle/handgun as the case might get stuck but otherwise, they've worked fine for me.
THe .22 lr case will fit into a .22 mag and .17 HMR chamber.
