If you want price point, look at a S&W Sigma
Haven't shot one, so can't speak for it.

Hi Point C9 _ducks_for_cover_ and a $200 dollar class and $75 in ammo and $25 on a Lee Loader, $15 fobus holster, 2 x $14 magazines.

or PT92 or a nice Ruger.

The S&W sigma series looks good to some. Bersa is another value priced gun that seems highly regarded.

From experience can recommend the pt92 or the Ruger P series. (the C9 if your safety is impeccable and you are somewhat mechanical and very knowledgeable of pistols)

I personally would go to a "blue collar" priced new gun rather than a trade in for my primary cc handgun.

However - I love those LEO trade ins for filling holes in the collection.

Good luck with your choice, let us know how it works out.

I just picked up a nice two tone Taurus 92SPL for $450 out the door. Very nice gun for the money.

Thanks guys for all the advice.

I ran into a like new BHP at a pawn shop the other day and it followed me home.

So, now I'm carrying the same weapon I did almost 30 years ago. Happy Happy.

I have only owned one LEO trade in - A beretta 96 with night sights. If I saw one I was looking for would probably get another one. BUT!! I know a rack o' cops that buy their old guns when they retire or when models change.

Most of them would balk at buying an unknown LEO trade in. Most cops take good care of their weapons. But just like civilians some really bone headed things do occur now and then.

Sportsman's Warehouse sells a new CZ75B for about $465 'out the door' plus 5% off if your mil or mil ret. They only seem to carry the base-line model.
I hope they start carrying ZIGANA.
I saw the HK P30 thread that made me drool.

I have a Beretta 92, and you certainly couldn't go wrong with one. No semi-auto is easier to field strip.

However, if I were to go out and buy one today, I'd probably get a CZ75B. My cousin has a CZ75B-SP01, and it's an absolute gem (but hardly cheap). To each his own, I guess.

I second michigun. The p95 is a tank of a gun, nothing but good things coming from me about mine. I've put about 3-400 rounds through it in the 2 months or so i've owned it and 0 misfeeds, stovepipes, nothing nada.

Considering you bought a Hi-power, I won't have to recommend the P95 then

Have fun with your Hi-power! They're great guns

Though I do like the title of this thread...."I'm looking for a cheap commuter car to get me to work...should I get a Mercedes or Cadillac STS-V or Chrysler 300 SRT-8?
hahaha

Hi
Check for Steve Camps site on the high power. Trigger sucks, unless you change the mag disconnect, IIRC. Not hard. Do it.

GREAT gun. If I'd only known then what I know now, I'd still have two Belguim FN guns...
